EARLY BELIEVERS
Thanks to the advice of Mr. Sebastien Marot (founder of the NGO “Friends”) and his wife, who were working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Home 1 received in 1995 support and assistance from the World Food Program (WFP), in the form of rice supplies, cooking oil and canned fish. This assistance ended in March 2003 following their decision to stop food donations programmes to orphanages in Cambodia. When the number of the children had increased to over 60, an appeal was made to our friends from French Association “Agir pour le Cambodge”.
Those friends, who were already helping Samdech Son Sann and H.E Son Soubert in the refugee camp, immediately responded to the call. Those were well known and respected figures within the refugee camp: Father Pierre Ceyrac, John Bingham, Father Vincent Dierex, Eric de Langdsdorff and Philippe Denoix.
