Thanks to the advice of Mr. Sebastien MAROT (founder of the NGO “Friends”) and his wife, who were working with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in 1995 the Home 1 received support and assistance from the World Food Program (WFP), in the form of rice supplies, cooking oil, and canned fish. This assistance ended in March 2003 following their decision to stop food donations programs to orphanages in Cambodia. When the number of the children had increased to over 60, an appeal was made to our friends from French Association “Agir pour le Cambodge”.
Those friends, who were already helping Samdech SON Sann and H.E SON Soubert in the refugee camps, immediately responded to the call. We want to thank these well-known and respected figures within the refugee camps: Father Pierre Ceyrac, John Bingham, Father Vincent Dierex, Eric de Langdsorff, and Philippe Denoix.
